The trail head for Sunrise and WestWing Mountain is at WestWing Neighborhood park, 27100 N. WestWing Parkway and services include: off-street parking, restroom facilities, and chilled drinking fountains from 6:00 a.m. to dusk. There is also more convenient access to Sunrise Mountain trail at the WestWing Elementary School 26716 N. High Desert Dr.; Peoria, AZ 85383, however there are no comfort facilities at this location. The school cannot guarantee parking spaces will be available, especially during the normal hours of operation. You will have greater success finding space to park on weekends, holidays, and during the summer months when school is not in session. We discourage persons from parking in the adjacent neighborhoods to access the WestWing and Sunrise Mountain trails – please be courteous to the neighboring residents and use the neighborhood park or school parking lot for your hiking experience.
The trail head for East Wing Mountain is at Sonoran Mountain Ranch Park, 7098 W. Miner Trail; Peoria, AZ 85383 and it is located three miles north of Happy Valley Rd. on 67th Avenue. The trailhead amenities also includes off-street parking, restroom facilities, and chilled drinking fountains from 6:00 a.m. to dusk.
Enjoy your hiking experience: play by the rules; hike safely; be courteous of others; and please keep Peoria's mountain spaces clean. If you have further questions on the City's hiking trails, please contact Kirk Haines at 623-773-7120 or email Kirk.Haines@PeoriaAz.Gov.
