APWA4colorroundAccreditationlogoThe City of Peoria Public Works - Utilities Department activities touch the lives of Peoria citizens everyday. The Public Works - Utilities Department is comprised of a team of technical and administrative personnel dedicated to providing excellent service.

In 2013, the American Public Works Association (APWA) awarded full re-accreditation to the City of Peoria Public Works-Utilities Department. This prestigious distinction was the result of many months of hard work and dedication from Public Works employees. The accreditation process requires the department to review its programs and procedures and ensure that they conform to Nationally-accepted best practices. The examination process is rigorous and time-consuming, but the benefits of ensuring excellent service delivery are worth the effort.  Additionally, APWA recognized the City for five model Best Management Practices.

The Public Works - Utilities Department will continue to deliver quality services to Peoria residents by using the latest technology and in anticipating the needs of the future, assuring the people of the community a high quality of life.

The City of Peoria Public Works Division operational services are provided by the Streets, Solid Waste, Transit and Fleet divisions, located in the Municipal Operations Center (MOC), at 8850 North 79th Avenue, Peoria, Arizona 85345.

Peoria's Curbside Recycling Program has expanded the list of acceptable items.  You can now place Plastics #1 through #7, Wet Strength material such as soda carriers and frozen meal boxes and shredded paper (in clear bags and tied) in your recycling barrel. 

Peoria Dial-A-Ride was formed in 1989 to provide basic transportation services for the residents of Peoria. Since that time the Transit Division has tripled in size, provides greater services and completes approximately 32,000 transports annually. To learn more about Dial-A-Ride, click here.
