Susan J. Daluddung
Deputy City Manager for Development and Community Services
Susan has held very responsible positions in Community Development in highly respected communities in Oregon and California. She was Chief Planner in the City of Portland during a time when that city was setting out many of the community planning elements that have made it one of the most admired cities in the west. Her economic development work in Springfield Oregon included attracting the Sony Corporation to that city, as well as several other significant employers. In Ventura California, Susan successfully conducted community based planning efforts that resulted in numerous well received projects and programs which culminated in that city being recognized for the prestigious Most Livable City award in 2004. Most recently she has done significant redevelopment work in Hayward California, where she has led several public-private partnerships to bring new transit oriented mixed use projects to underdeveloped portions of that city.
Susan has a PhD. in Planning and Urban Studies, and a Master’s degree in Urban Planning, both from Portland State University and an undergraduate degree from Mankato State University in Minnesota. She is recognized as an expert in many areas, including Smart Growth, Sustainable Development, and Transit Oriented Development. She has earned the City Manager designation from the International City/County Management Association (ICMA*). She joined the City of Peoria on Monday, October 6, 2008.
As Deputy City Manager, Susan oversees the Information Technology Department, the City Clerk's Office, the Planning and Community Development Department, the Economic Development Services Department, and the Engineering Department.
