STOREKEEPER ASSISTANT
GENERAL PURPOSE
Pick up and delivery of mail, parts and supplies; and
assist in receiving, stocking, issuing, and inventorying
parts and supplies in a storeroom/warehouse.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
Receive general supervision from management,
professional, or technical staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist Procurement
Specialist or Storekeeper in receiving, stocking,
issuing, and inventorying parts, materials, tools,
equipment and supplies.

Picks
up mail, parts or supplies from and deliver to vendors
and City facilities.

Operate and enter data into personal computer to
issue, post, retrieve, and research inventory data.

Assist
with Inspections of shipments of equipment and
supplies received for conformity to purchase order
specifications.

Operates a forklift, truck, and a variety of small
equipment.

Participate in cycle counts

Answer
telephones and radios.

Cleans
and maintains storage facilities.

Assists with preparation and distribution of mail as
assigned.

Plans
and organizes a daily mail run to ensure the timely
and efficient collection and distribution of parts,
supplies, tools, or mail.

Read
and understands maps. Comprehends and makes inferences
from written material, such as delivery and routing
information or payment instructions.

Understands and follows oral and written instructions.
-
Communicates clearly and concisely, both orally and in
writing.

Establishes and maintains effective working
relationships with those contacted in the course of
work.

Performs related duties, as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalent and one year
experience in the performance of warehouse or parts
delivery and pick up. Possession of, or ability to
obtain, an appropriate, valid Arizona driver's license.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of: automotive parts, tools, and equipment,
computerized inventory systems; safety precautions
associated with working around mechanical equipment and
maintenance areas; storekeeping methods and practices;
traffic laws and safe driving methods and practices.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this class, an employee
is frequently required to sit, walk and stand; talk or
hear, in person and by telephone; use hands to finger,
handle, feel or operate standard office equipment;
engage in repetitive movement with hands and wrists;
reach with hands and arms. Employees regularly may
stoop, kneel, bend or crouch and lift 20 pounds of force
constantly to move objects and up to 50 pounds
frequently and lift or move and up to 100 pounds
occasionally. Specific vision abilities required by this
job include close vision, distance vision, the use of
both eyes and the ability to adjust focus.

Demands
Plans
and organizes a daily parts run to ensure the timely and
efficient collection and distribution of parts,
supplies, tools, or mail. Prioritizes own work
assignments. Reviews paperwork and parts picked up and
distributed to ensure that the numbers match. Resolves
discrepancies between the physical count and inventory
paperwork.
