Title:
Associate Sales Tax Auditor
FLSA Status: Exempt
BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
The purpose of this position is to
complete routine to moderately difficult audits, gather
information, analyze statistical information, study
administrative issues, and develop methods to improve
systems and procedures. This is accomplished by initiating
and completing audits, ensuring tax system integrity and
maintenance, providing training, and assisting with daily
processes. Other duties include participating in training
activities and completing special projects as assigned.

Essential Functions |

Completes audits by researching
activities, reviewing and analyzing agreements,
assessing taxes, compiling histories, reviewing
information and related documents, conferring with
jurisdictions, working with legal staff, and preparing
correspondence and audit results. |

Maintains the integrity of the tax
system by reviewing and analyzing reports, identifying
balances due, recording adjustments, amendments and
refunds, sending correspondence, and ensuring duplicate
accounts are not created. |

Educates taxpayers and customer
service representatives by assisting with inquiries,
facilitating proper reporting, licensing and other
requirements, researching issues, providing
recommendations, explaining balances, and preparing
printed educational and training materials. |

Assists with daily processes by
researching and resolving error notifications,
researching error batches, depositing and closing
completed batches, and transferring bank files. |

Formal Education |
Work requires knowledge of a
specific vocational, administrative, or technical nature
which may be obtained with a two year associate's
degree, diploma or equivalent from a college, technical,
business, vocational, or correspondence school.
Appropriate certification may be awarded upon
satisfactory completion of advanced study or training. |

Experience |
Over one year up to and including
three years experience. |
|
Supervision |
Job has no responsibility for the
direction or supervision of others. |
|

Work may require providing advice
to others outside direct reporting relationships on
specific problems or general policies. Contacts may
require the consideration of different points of view to

Position has limited fiscal

Reading |
Intermediate - Ability to read
papers, periodicals, journals, manuals, dictionaries,
thesauruses, and encyclopedias. Ordinarily, such
education is obtained in high school up to college.
However, it may be obtained from experience and
self-study. |

Intermediate - Ability to deal with
system of real numbers; practical application of
fractions, percentages, ratios/proportions and
measurement. Ordinarily, such education is obtained in

Intermediate - Ability to write

summaries with proper format, punctuation, spelling, and
