Honor Guard
Mission
The Mission of the
Peoria Fire Department Honor Guard is to proudly
and positively represent the Fire Department at
events such as memorial services, funerals,
ceremonial functions, and civic functions. The
Peoria Fire Department Honor Guard is dedicated
to honoring and remembering all
active, retired or deceased firefighters and their families.
History
The Peoria Fire
Department Honor Guard was formed in 2000 with
six members. Since that time the team has
expanded to a total of eleven members, and they are:

Events
The Peoria Fire
Department Honor Guard has participated in many
events since its inception in 2000, including
members flying to New York City to assist the
FDNY with their overwhelming number of post 9-11
funeral services. The Peoria Fire Department
Honor Guard also participates on a yearly basis
at the International Association of Firefighters
National Fallen Firefighter Memorial in Colorado
Springs, Colorado as well as The Professional
Firefighters of Arizona Memorial Service in
Phoenix, Arizona.
The Peoria Fire
Department Honor Guard routinely participates in
the Colors Details at civic events such as
public parades, sporting events and many other
events when they are requested. They also
perform Colors Details for Fire Department
functions including award banquets, station
dedications and graduations. Honor Guard team
members also assist other agencies, both Fire
and Police, with funeral and memorial services
upon request.
