The Peoria Fire Department will not be conducting a 2008 Firefighter Recruitment.  The remainder of our 2007 eligibility list will be used as openings arise.  Please continue to check the PFD employment website for updates.  Please note that we require applicants to maintain a current passing CPAT (must be within six months prior to the date of the oral board interview) in order to be eligible for interview.  This means you need to maintain a passing CPAT score and it cannot be older than six months at the time of your oral board.

The position of Firefighter Recruit performs all aspects of fire suppression, prevention and emergency medical support; click here for job description.

Test scores are now available from the 2007 testing process.  Please use your random candidate ID number to retrieve your score and other information throughout this hiring process, such as oral board schedules.  Scores posted do include preference points that were submitted.

In order to move forward in the process, you must have scored a 70% or higher on the actual written exam.  For example, if you scored a 65% on the exam and then we added 10 preference points to your overall score making it a 75%, you would not move on because your exam score was below a 70%.

We recently contacted candidates for oral boards.  If future openings arise we will be contacting the next eligible applicants on the list.  Please remember!  In order to be eligible for an interview with the Peoria Fire Department, you must have a passing CPAT six months prior to the oral board date.  See below for upcoming CPAT information.
