Welcome to the City of Peoria, AZ Engineering Department.  

The Engineering Department is responsible for providing in-house professional engineering services including:

  • Review of private development projects

  • Provide mapping and record drawing information related to offsite improvements

  • Implementation of Capital Improvement Projects relating to streets, drainage, and traffic signals

  • Inspection of private development offsite improvements, Capital Improvement Projects, dry utilities and custom home grading and drainage

  • Implementation of traffic engineering projects

  • Participation in the STormwater Outreach for Regional Municipalities (STORM)

Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs), are the risk assessment tools used to establish flood risk zones and base flood elevations for the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). An available format is the FIRMette - a paper copy of a user-defined portion of a FIRM created via the web. Viewing and customizing FIRMettes is free of charge to all users. Under the Multi-Hazard Flood Modernization Initiative, FIRMs will be updated and the current paper-based map system will be converted to a digital format-DFIRMs.  Click here for instructions on viewing and printing “FIRMettes” on the FEMA web site
