Peoria Utilities customers
used 7.1 billion gallons of water in
2003, an average of 175 gallons of
water per customer per day.

Peoria tested approximately 275
water quality samples each month
in 2003 to ensure that your
drinking water remained safe on
the way to your tap.

In May 2003, Peoria was the first
city in the Valley to adopt a
Drought Contingency Plan since
Phoenix did in 1990.

Peoria invoked Stage One - Water
Watch of the Drought Contingency
Plan, which asks customers to
voluntarily reduce their water use
by 5% and requires the City to
reduce its use by 5%.
The

only to those who receive their water from the City of
Peoria. There are several private water companies that
serve residents in certain areas of the city. If you
receive your water from the Sunrise, New River, Rose
Valley, or Arizona American water companies, you should
contact your water supplier directly for water data that
affects you:
