Introduction

The City of Peoria Utilities Department is responsible for assuring a safe and convenient water supply for over 100,000 residents each day. We are proud to meet this challenge and dedicated to providing quality services for our community.

Peoria’s 2002 Water Report offers a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the processes that bring one of the earth’s most diverse and important resources to your tap, on demand.

Often, we only think about water when it is not available. This report is designed to show what it takes to provide water to a thirsty desert city. We think about it, so you don’t have to.

Additionally, this report provides important information about water conservation, Peoria’s utilities construction program, and water quality data that the United States Environmental Protection Agency requires each water provider to furnish its customers on an annual basis.

We thank you for taking time to read this report — please contact us if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Peoria Utilities Department
