Thank you for choosing the
City of Peoria’s
AM/PM, Summer Camp and Little Learners programs. Our first and foremost
priority is the safety and well-being of all of our participants. With that
in mind, we are always looking for ways to improve the program.
In an effort to maintain
the highest quality standards of care, the Peoria Community Services
Department will be making a change to the AM/PM, Summer Camp and Little
Learners payment options. Beginning this summer, site staff will no longer
be accepting payments at the site. We truly believe that this change will
be beneficial to both you and your child. Here are just a few of these
benefits:
Higher Focus on
Participants
Currently, site staff spend
approximately 10 - 13 hours a week (there are only 27.5 hours of care per
week during the AM/PM school year) either taking payments or discussing
payment related issues with parents. By eliminating payments on site, your
leaders can focus all of their attention to the care of your child.
Better Communication
We understand that the
presence of staff at your child’s school is convenient for communication
regarding your payments, however, the staff at your site do not have access
to the proper tools (i.e. computer and accounting software) to address many
payment related concerns which may often lead to miscommunication. Now,
payments and concerns will be addressed directly with trained billing staff
so that you can be properly informed about your account. Furthermore,
communication with your site staff will be focused on what is most
important, the welfare of your child.
More Time to Make Payments
By requiring payments
directly with Customer Service staff, you now have three (3) extra days to
make weekly payments! Payments will be due on Monday of the current week
instead of Thursday of the previous week, giving you more time to pay.
All other payment options
will still be available to you. These include:
-
RecConnect (on-line) – 24 hours/day, 7 days/week
-
IVR
(Automated telephone) –24 hours/day, 7 days/week. For current payments
only. IVR is not available to make future payments or to place a credit
on an account
-
Quick
Pay (automated credit card)
-
EFT
(electronic transfer from your checking account)
-
Check,
cash money order or credit card at the front desk of the Community
Services Department
-
Credit
card payment over the phone with Customer Service Staff
We
truly believe this change will result in a better program for you and your
family.
