Rain Restricts Peoria Roads
Travelers Encouraged to Avoid Certain Areas

PEORIA, Ariz – (Jan. 20, 2010) – The continuing rainfall has forced the City of Peoria to restrict two roadways due to excess water.

Motorists should avoid:
• 91st Avenue for a half-mile north of Olive Avenue
• 75th Avenue between Northern Avenue and Golden Lane

Local access is still available, but lane restrictions and standing water will cause delays in these areas.
Additionally, city traffic engineers advise motorists to avoid the outside travel lanes on all streets during heavy rainfall. These lanes are designed to carry rain water into storm drains, and may be flooded.
