Lake Pleasant Water Levels Rising
Public Urged to Use Caution
1/21/2010
Peoria, Ariz. (Jan. 21, 2010) Due to extreme
weather conditions, the water elevation at Lake Pleasant Regional Park is
projected to rise an additional 13 ft. within the next 48 hours. Shoreline
campers and visitors are asked to remain high enough away from the water level.
Boaters and watercraft users are also asked to
stay cautious of debris brought about by the storms. Since water levels are
rising quickly at the lake, hazardous areas may not be marked. Once it is safe
for our navigational aids to reenter the water, they will resume marking
hazardous areas. Given the size of the storm and impact on the lake, it could
take upward of one week to identify most of the hazardous areas and islands.
Pending weather conditions and water levels,
access and use of the lake may be restricted for the next 48 hours. Visitors are
encouraged to phone (928) 501-1710 ahead of time to check on conditions at Lake
Pleasant.
