PEORIA, Ariz. (Jan. 20,
2010) – People with business before the Peoria Municipal Court should use the
new, 83rd Avenue entrance starting on Friday, Jan. 22. They should park on the
upper level of the east parking garage, accessible from West Cinnabar Avenue,
and take the pedestrian bridge to the court.
The new entrance aligns
with the building’s street address, 10100 N. 83rd Ave. The old main entrance, on
the west side of the building, faced inward toward City Hall. (To view a map of
the Peoria Municipal Campus, visit
www.peoriaaz.gov/municipalcampus.) The court’s phone and fax numbers will
stay the same, and the mailing address will remain 8401 W. Monroe St.
The court is in the
midst of a two-year, $11 million expansion and renovation.
In order to maintain
court operations, the project is being done in phases. With the expansion toward
83rd Avenue complete, the court is moving its operations to the new portion of
the building so the old portion can be renovated.
When the whole project
is completed in the spring of 2011, the building will have an additional 20,000
square feet of courtroom and administrative space. For more information on the
project, visit
www.peoriaaz.gov/court.
