Peoria City Manager Earns Positive Review
City Council Expresses Confidence in City's Direction

Peoria, Ariz. (Dec. 16, 2009) – City Manager Carl Swenson has earned high marks from the Peoria City Council for guiding the city through a tough economic period, according to his recently completed evaluation. Collectively, the City Council expressed a high degree of confidence in the direction of the city under his management.

“Carl’s leadership of the city organization has been excellent, especially considering the difficult period we are in,” said Mayor Bob Barrett.

For the second consecutive year, Swenson made it clear that he would not accept a pay increase given the economic climate, and the City Council agreed.

“While we’d like to reward Mr. Swenson for a job well done, it’s just not something fiscally responsible right now,” said Barrett.
