Red Cross to Teach Wilderness Survival at Rio Vista

Rio Vista Recreation Center and the American Red Cross are offering a free wilderness-survival class from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 17, at the center. The course is designed for those who work, play or live in areas 30 minutes or more from regular emergency medical service response – and for campers, hikers, hunters, fishermen or anyone who spends time in the outdoors. It will not provide certification but will prepare attendees how to respond appropriately in emergency situations. To register, call Rio Vista at 623-773-8600.
