City Council Endorses ‘Cocoa’ Brown for Recycling Bins
3/21/2007
The old saying
"everyone likes chocolate" rang true at the March 20 Peoria City Council
meeting, as councilmembers agreed that "cocoa" brown would be the color for the
city's new curbside recycling containers. The decision was motivated by a desire
for a color that both complements the city's existing tan trash barrels and
blends well with the overall desert color palette of most city neighborhoods.
The city will spend nearly $3 million to buy the barrels, which will be
delivered to residents from September through November. Look for more
information about the program this summer.
