City Welcomes Entries for Student Constitution Contest
Grand Prize Is $1,500 Scholarship

Peoria is looking for elementary-, middle- and high-school students to Celebrate the Constitution. Depending upon age, students can enter an essay or a poster in the city’s ninth-annual contest, which offers prizes in four age groups – as well as one $1,500 college scholarship as grand prize. Contestants from Peoria Unified and Deer Valley Unified schools in Peoria must submit entries to their homeroom teachers by Friday, Sept. 18. A city panel will judge those entries, and winners will be recognized at the Oct. 20 Peoria City Council meeting. For more information, visit www.peoriaaz.gov/council.
