Peoria Offers Free Water Conservation, Landscaping Classes

Peoria is offering a series of free water conservation and landscape classes during September and October. The series includes:
• “The Dirt on Compost” – Thursday, Sept. 3, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
• “Low Desert Herb Gardening” – Thursday, Sept. 24, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
• “Tree Selection and Planting” – Thursday, Oct. 1, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
• “Xeriscape: Desert Fusion Garden Lecture and Walking Tour” – Saturday, Oct. 3, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
• “Landscaping in the Arizona Desert” – Thursday, Oct. 8, from 11 a.m. to noon.
• “Landscape Watering 101” – Thursday, Oct. 15, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
With the exception of the Oct. 8 session, all of the classes will be in the City Hall Pine Room. Oct. 8’s “Landscaping in the Arizona Desert” will be in the Point of View Room, just off the lobby in the Development and Community Services Building on the northeast corner of 85th Avenue and Mountain View Road.
