City Offers Kids After-School Drawing Classes

Peoria's Recreation Division offers the "Young Rembrandts After-School Drawing Program" at several Peoria elementary schools. All materials are provided and new subject matter is introduced every week, including lessons in art history, still life, drawing animals and figure drawing. Classes are geared for first through sixth graders and meet once a week for an hour, over seven weeks. Classes are offered at the following elementary schools and times:

• Tuesdays, starting Sept. 1 – Frontier and Parkridge, 3:10 p.m.; Paseo Verde, 3:50 p.m.
• Wednesdays, starting Sept. 2 – Coyote Hills, Lake Pleasant and Vistancia, 3:10 p.m.

Fees are $83 for Peoria residents and $88 for non-residents; the registration deadline is Thursday, Aug. 27. To register, call 623-773-7137 or visit www.peoriaaz.gov/recreation.
