Police Deploy Ice Cream to Celebrate National Night Out

The Peoria Police Department is holding an Open House and Ice Cream Social from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4, to promote National Night Out, an annual event to promote crime fighting and community partnership. The Department invites members of the community to the Public Safety Administration Building, 8351 W. Cinnabar Ave., to meet police personnel, see the equipment they use, learn about how to keep a home safe, meet McGruff “The Crime Dog” and see numerous home safety and security items. Because of the construction on 83rd Avenue, guests should access Cinnabar from 85th Avenue. The Peoria Fire Department, Peoria’s three Target stores and Blue Bell Ice Cream are partners with the Peoria Police Department for this event.
