Peoria Salutes Volunteers Who Made ‘Serve Day’ a Success

The city thanks the Community Church of Joy and all the other churches that were involved in "Serve Day," held on Feb. 24. Volunteers from various congregations came out with their families to serve the community. Projects included: picking up debris in parks; painting fences and buildings; cleaning up washes; placing 50 tons of sand in a park playground; placing 50 tons of granite on a walking track; and refurbishing signage.
