PEORIA, Ariz. (Mar. 30, 2009) – The City of Peoria’s
next small business seminar will help business owners assess their financial
health and offer important advice on what to do when things don’t go as planned.
This free event will take place Wednesday, April 22
from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the Pine Room at Peoria City Hall (8401 W. Monroe
Street).
The first hour will be a presentation and discussion
on the importance of planning a business exit strategy. At some point, just
about every owner has to make one of three decisions: sell the business;
transfer the business; or close the business. Planning ahead for these
contingencies is critical to a successful transition.
That portion will be led by David Shulze, a CPA,
licensed financial advisor for Waddell and Reed, and a business transfer
specialist for Murphy Business & Financial Corporation.
The second hour of the seminar will feature Art
Lampe and Andy Perona, who are licensed financial advisors for Waddell and Reed.
They will discuss the importance of financial planning for the individual
business owner, and how that can add to employee satisfaction and productivity.
The event is free, but registration is required by
April 20. For more information and to register, please call Debbie Pearson at
623-773-7735 or email
Debbie.Pearson@peoriaaz.gov.
