Expert to Discuss Harmonizing Landscape With Wildlife
3/18/2009
Peoria’s Water Conservation Division will present a free, two-hour class on Landscaping for Wildlife at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 26. Birds, bees and butterflies all have their favorite plants. Kirti Mathura, a horticulturist with the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix, will discuss plants that provide shelter and food for native wildlife. With this information, one can create an aesthetic and functional habitat in one’s own back yard. The class will be in the Point of View Room, off the main entrance of the city’s Development and Community Services Building, on the northeast corner of 85th Avenue and Mountain View Road. It is free, but pre-registration is requested; to sign up, call 623-773-7286 or visit
