Stadium Shop Open for Business
Souvenir Store Gets Early Start with Sale on Leftover '08 Merchandise
2/4/2009
The souvenir shop at the Peoria Sports Complex is open through Spring Training. Located on the first-base side of the stadium, the store opens its doors from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. About 80 percent of the merchandise for 2009 is in stock, according to Manager Craig Geffrey. To make room for it, the shop is selling leftover 2008 merchandise at half price or less. Among the sale items: $1 knickknacks, such as baseballs and baseball cards; $5 hats and T-shirts; and a selection of men’s polo shirts and jackets from Antigua ranging from $20 to $45. New for this spring: 2009 Cactus League T-shirts for $25; a broad selection of women’s and children’s items; and a smattering of World Baseball Classic merchandise raging in price from $30 to $45. All prices include sales tax. On event days, the shop will remain open for about 30 minutes after the game.
