City Seeks Public Input on Downtown Art Project
8/20/2008
The Peoria Arts Commission will host public meetings at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 3, and Thursday, Sept. 4, in the City Hall Pine Room to solicit input from residents on a downtown arts project. The commission tentatively plans to hire Emanuel Martinez to develop a mural for a block wall southeast of Grand Avenue and Washington Street. The $30,000 project is scheduled to be completed by the end of the year. Martinez, who will be at the meetings, is the artist who created the Pioneer Memorial located at the intersection of Grand and 83rd avenues.
