City Aims to Boost First-Time Homebuyers Eyeing Foreclosures

Eligible first-time homebuyers looking to purchase a foreclosed Peoria house can get up to $5,000 in additional down payment assistance. Peoria’s Neighborhood Services Division manages the Down Payment Assistance Program, which historically grants $10,000 to low-income first-time homebuyers. This year, the city is granting the additional dollars to applicants purchasing a foreclosed house, giving them a total of $15,000 for a down payment. Interested applicants can get more information by calling 623-773-7250 or visiting www.peoriaaz.gov/Neighborhood/Neighborhood_Social_Services.asp and selecting “Home Ownership Programs.”
