Peoria, Ariz. (June 2, 2008) – Opening a small business can be difficult in the best of times. In a lukewarm economy, it can be downright scary.
But it can be done, and Peoria’s Economic Development Department wants to help. The city’s second Small Business Resource Seminar of 2008 will focus on how to start a business in Peoria. The free event will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 19, in the Pine Room at City Hall (8401 W. Monroe Street).
The seminar will feature speakers from several city departments that interact regularly with Peoria’s business community. Topics scheduled for discussion include:
o Getting a business license (including liquor licenses),
o The permit process, from application to approval,
o How to do business with Peoria,
o Small-business resources (including the new Façade Improvement Program).
Although the seminar is free, registration is required. Please contact Debbie Pearson at Debbie.Pearson@peoriaaz.gov or 623-773-7735.
Registration for the seminar closes June 13.
