Rio Vista Offers Bonding Sessions for Adults, Young Children

The Rio Vista
Recreation Center is offering four classes this spring targeted toward parents
(or grandparents) and young children:

“Bouncing Babies,” a
six-week course in which participants take part in play, reading, rhymes and
song, will be from 11 a.m. to noon on Wednesdays, beginning March 19. It costs
$58 for Peoria residents, and the registration deadline is Friday, March 14.

“Silly Songs,” a
six-week course that promotes pre-reading, math and physical-development
skills through interactive songs and games, will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on
Wednesdays. Dates, fee and deadline are the same as for Bouncing Babies.

“Young Rembrandts –
Let’s Draw Together,” in which art teachers will guide adult and child through
creative drawing projects with kid-friendly themes, will be from 10:10 a.m. to
10:55 a.m. on Saturdays, beginning March 15. It costs $72 dollars for Peoria
residents, and the registration deadline is Monday, March 10.

“Stroller Strides,”
an ongoing fitness program for new moms and their babies comprising warm up,
50-minute power walk and stops for body toning using the stroller, the
outdoors and exercise tubing, will be offered Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays
from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Participants can attend up to 10 sessions for
$110.
