Rio Vista to Host 25th Anniversary Senior Olympics Gala

Peoria’s Rio Vista Recreation Center will host Arizona Senior Olympics’ 25th Anniversary Athletes Social from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16. The event, which is open to the public, will feature casino-style tables at which participants can earn raffle entries based upon their chip winnings. The grand prize is use of a suite at an Arizona Diamondbacks game. The evening also will include dinner and dancing to The Bop Cats, a local band playing songs from the 1950s, 60s and 70s. Tickets are $12 and must be purchased in advance by calling 602-534-3500. Earlier in the day, the Senior Games will get under way at Copper Canyon High School,  9126 W. Camelback Road in Glendale.
