Punt, Pass & Kick Tryout Could Lead to Televised Finals

Boys and girls ages 8 to 15 (as of Dec. 31) are invited to demonstrate their skills at NFL Pepsi Punt, Pass & Kick tryouts the first two Saturdays in October. Participants will be judged on distance and accuracy. The boys’ and girls’ winners in each group will advance to a sectional competition in Glendale. Sectional winners will advance to the Arizona Cardinals Team Championship event staged during half time of a game. The top four scorers in each boys’ and girls’ age group from the pool of Team Champions will advance to the national finals at a post-season NFL game televised by NBC Sports. The Oct. 6 tryouts will be at Sunrise Mountain High School, 21200 N. 83rd Ave.; Oct. 13 at Paseo Verde Park, 7665 W. Greenway Road. Participants can register at the events from 8 a.m. to noon.
