Lecture, Walking Tour Spotlight Low-Water-Use Landscaping

Residents can learn how to convert their yards from grass to low-water-use landscaping, or Xeriscape, in a two hour session at City Hall on Saturday, Oct. 13. Landscape Architect Judy Mielke will discuss the seven principles of Xeriscape, which – if applied properly – can create landscapes that are water efficient yet creative and colorful. Attendees also will go on a walking tour of Peoria’s award-winning Desert Fusion Garden to see those principles at work.
