Community Feedback Sought for Future Parks, Rec Plan
Evaluate Current Services, Provide Input for Future
2/4/2013
City staff will be hosting the first of several community meetings to discuss the future of Peoria’s parks, recreation facilities, programs, and more on Thursday, Feb. 7 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Rio Vista Recreation Center, 8866 West Thunderbird Road. Participants will be asked to rate Peoria's facilities, programs, and services in meeting the current needs of the community and the needs for the future. In the past, residents have requested additional features and facilities such as pickle ball courts, lighted sports fields and hiking trails, and off-leash dog parks. Suggestions such as these will be gathered and evaluated against others to create a Parks and Recreation Master Plan. Other outreach efforts will held in conjunction with the Park and Recreation Board meetings, the third Thursday of every month at 6:30 p.m. at various locations. Those interested in providing comments but unable to attend a meeting may visit http://my.peoriaaz.gov/.
