Northern Peoria Fire Station Opens for Business

The Peoria Fire Department began using its new, northern Peoria station on Saturday, Aug. 18. The $3.3 million, 10,700-square-foot facility, located at 7758 W. Jomax Road, houses one fire engine and has a complement of 12 firefighters divided among three shifts. Each crew comprises a captain, an engineer and two firefighters. The building also houses a police office. The facility will be dedicated on Friday, Oct. 12, and will host an open house on Saturday, Oct. 13.
