Grand Opening of Rio Vista Rec Center slated for Sept. 8

The public is invited to the grand opening of Rio Vista Recreation Center on Saturday, Sept. 8, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. A ribbon cutting will be followed by tours of the facility. Class demonstrations, contests, giveaways and refreshments will be presented throughout the event. The center -- which features rock climbing and boulder walls, a fitness area, a walking/jogging track, racquetball courts, dance and aerobics rooms, a gymnasium, a banquet room and classrooms -- is located in Rio Vista Community Park, off Thunderbird Road just west of Loop 101.
