City Council Takes Step Toward Happy Valley Road Linkage

The Peoria City Council on Tuesday approved a contract for “preconstruction services” related to extending and widening Happy Valley Road between Lake Pleasant Parkway and 75th Avenue. The $285,000 contract with Ames Construction Inc. will cover more-detailed design drawings, subcontracting and basic project coordination with the city. Peoria will spend almost $36 million through fiscal 2009 on this cross-town link from its eastern border with Phoenix at 67th Avenue west to Loop 303 and Vistancia Boulevard.
