Rio Vista Community Park-Little League Championship
Site of Little League Championship

June 25, 2007 (PEORIA, Ariz) – Rio
Vista Community Park in Peoria is the host site for District 2 Little League
Championships, June 28 to July 12. This is the first time the event has taken
place at one site. The tournament features all-star teams from each of the
18-member leagues competing: Majors (12 and under); Minors (10/11 year olds);
and 9/10 year olds divisions. A schedule of games is available online at

Rio Vista has seven possible fields, configured to Little League dimensions,
including the Little League “stadium” field which will be the site of the Major
Division Championship game on Thursday, July 12. The park provides the unique
opportunity to bring the entire District 2 program to one site, creating a
baseball ambience that can’t be duplicated in a team site format, and allowing
family the chance to see multiple participants competing at once. The park also
features two concession stands, open space for warm-up and practice, ample
seating areas, and full scoreboard and PA system capabilities, providing
everything needed for a total tournament experience.
