PEORIA, Ariz. (March
3, 2011) – Peoria boasts a number of spring break activities for kids and
teens staying in town the week of March 14.
Rio Vista Recreation
Center will celebrate Teen Week by offering three lunch seminars geared toward
those ages 13 to 17. A $15 registration fee includes all three seminars, plus
lunch, as well as a weeklong pass to the facility. For those who already have
passes, the cost is only $5.
The seminars will be
from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday through Thursday. They include:

Getting and
Keeping that First Job – (Tuesday) Speakers: Manny Burruel from the city’s
Human Resources Department and Rio Vista Manager Jackie Stanley.

Financial Fitness
for Teens – (Wednesday) Speaker: Janet Humphrey, Credit Union West.

Look and Feel Your
Best – (Thursday) Speakers: Rio Vista Fitness Coordinator Tracy de Berge
and certified personal trainers Brian Trubl and Cory Rade.

Teen TEAM Trips
Peoria’s Teen TEAM will
host daily spring break trips the week of March 14 for students in the
sixth-through-eighth grades. Transportation will be provided from three Peoria
elementary schools. Trips include a newly released movie, laser tag, Jump
Street, Castles ~n~ Coasters and a party at Centennial Pool. For daily trip and

Spring Break Camp
Peoria’s AM/PM Program
is staging Spring Break Camp for kids from kindergarten to age 14 at three
locations the week of March 14.
The program, which provides child care while schools are out of session,
features arts and crafts; games; sports; and field trips. It will run daily from
6 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Cheyenne, Frontier and Oasis elementary schools. The cost is
$24 per day; lunches can be purchased for an additional $4. There is an extra $5
registration charge for kids who aren’t already enrolled in the AM/PM Program.
