Holiday Festival Attendance Jumps 42 Percent
12/7/2010
About 8,500 people attended Peoria’s Oldtown Holiday Festival the evening of Friday, Dec. 3. That figure was up 42 percent from 2009. More than 30 craft vendors and 10 food vendors participated in the event -- which this year boasted a bigger selection of activities for kids, including inflatables, face painters, glitter tattoos and a train ride. Santa Claus put in an appearance on a Peoria fire truck with a police escort. The Cactus High School Choir won a high school choral contest at the Peoria Center for the Performing Arts. Outdoors, local acts entertained the crowd from the main stage in Osuna Park.
