Sports Complex Hosts Learning for Life 5K/10K Dec. 4

The Peoria Sports Complex will be the site of the Boy Scouts of America Learning for Life 5K and 10K the morning of Saturday, Dec. 4. The local Boy Scout council is using the occasion to celebrate the 100th anniversary of scouting. The event, which begins at 7 a.m., will comprise a 5K competitive run/fun walk and a 10K competitive run. Participants must pre-register online by Thursday, Dec. 2, at www.grandcanyonbsa.org/10K. The registration fee is $30 for the 10K, $25 for the 5K and $20 for youths 17 and younger. Those who register by Friday, Nov. 26, will receive a $5 discount. Each participant will receive a T-shirt and goody bag, and awards will be given to the top finishers overall and in each age group.
