Breast surgeon Kimberli Cox will discuss the “10 Myths about Breast Cancer” from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 28, at Rio Vista Recreation Center. She will give an overview of breast health and explain how medical experts at Banner Health are offering hope to patients and families with new ways to prevent, detect and treat breast cancer. According to the American Cancer Society, more than 250,000 cases of breast cancer will be diagnosed this year in the United States. However, the good news is that deaths from breast cancer are declining thanks to advances in treatment, earlier detection through screening and increased awareness.
