Workshop Offers Tips for Landing College Scholarships

Peoria is offering a two-session workshop for students 16 or older and parents interested in college scholarships. “Finding Free Money for College: The Scholarship Search” will take place at Rio Vista Recreation Center from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on consecutive Saturdays, Sept. 18 and Sept. 25. The goal of the course is to develop students' strategies for the college and scholarship searches. Many of the same skills and methods are required for the these searches, which should be conducted simultaneously. Students will receive a booklet with worksheets for maximizing their searches.
