Early Primary Ballots in Mail; Don’t Be Left Out

Early ballots have been mailed for the Tuesday, Aug. 24, primary election. Just under half of Peoria’s registered voters are on the Permanent Early Voting List. City elections are non-partisan but are combined with the partisan county-wide primaries. Early voters who are registered as “independent” or “party not designated” will not automatically receive an early ballot. Those voters must ask for a “city-only” ballot, or must declare a party affiliation for this election. This will not change a voter’s independent party designation. Voters already on the early voting list who have not yet received a ballot should contact the Maricopa County Elections Office at 602-506-1511. The last day to request an early ballot by mail is Friday, Aug. 13. Voters may request that an early ballot be mailed to them by going to
