Street Repairs to Restrict Cactus Road Traffic for 3 Weeks

Traffic on Cactus Road between 67th and 83rd avenues will be restricted to one lane in each direction starting Monday, June 7, so the city can repair cracks in the pavement. Officials expect the work to take about three weeks. During that time, the road will be narrowed for up to a mile. A city contractor will mill 2-foot-wide, 3-inch-deep strips of asphalt off the top of the cracks and then seal them. Workers then will replace the asphalt and paint back any stripes that were obliterated by the process. Officials do not plan to restrict more than a mile at a time and will finish each section before moving to the next.
