Saturday Afternoon is Prime Slime Time

Kids ages 7-13 can have
a slime old time in the “Mad Science – Crazy Chem Works” workshop on Saturday,
March 27, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Rio Vista Recreation Center. Participants
will make their own “slime” in class and participate in ooey gooey “Slime
Olympics” activities to test out slimy strength. They also will learn about
adhesives and the bonding properties of tape and glue through in-class
experiments and activities. Last but not least, they will dip into the world of
acids and bases, exploring pH extremes learning how to discover whether liquids
found in at home are acids or bases using personal pH paper. Each student will
bring home his or her own personal slime, beaker and pH paper. The cost of the
workshop is $35 for Peoria residents, $40 for non-residents. To register a
