PEORIA, Ariz. (Feb.
12, 2010) – Peoria is seeking volunteers for Neighborhood Pride projects on
Saturday, Feb. 20, and Saturday, March 6.
The work will consist
of exterior painting, spreading gravel or possibly repairing fences or gates.
All materials will be supplied, as will light refreshments and a Neighborhood
Pride T-shirt. The work generally runs from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Feb. 20 project
will be on Cortez Street west of 91st Avenue.
The March 6 effort will
be on Beryl Street, west of 71st Avenue.
Neighborhood Pride is a
revitalization program that helps established neighborhoods maintain their
appearance and value. It helps individual owners improve their properties with
material donations and volunteer assistance.
