Peoria Hires New Deputy Fire Chief
"I am very excited about this opportunity," said McKibben. "Peoria seems like a great place to work and raise a family. I look forward to the challenges I will face as a member of the citys management team and fire department." McKibben has been a firefighter with the City of Beloit for nearly 18 years, where he started as a paramedic in 1983. He holds a Bachelor Degree in Fire Science Management from Southern Illinois University and a Masters of Business Administration from Cardinal Stritch College. He is also a graduate of the Executive Fire Officer program at the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, Maryland. As Deputy Chief of Support Services in the Peoria Fire Department, McKibben will oversee fleet management, communications and emergency services contracts, and fire station location, design, and construction. "He brings the right mix of experience, training and education to be a perfect fit with both the fire department and within the city organization," said Peoria Fire Chief Michael Fusco. Robert McKibben is a married father of four who is active in his community, having served on the board of directors for the YMCA and United Way in Beloit.
