Cathy Carlat, Councilmember
Mesquite District, City of Peoria

Cathy Carlat has proudly served as the Councilmember representing the Mesquite District of the City of Peoria since taking office in January 2005. She was elected as Vice Mayor in 2008 and again in 2011.
Counselor Cathy has embraced her role, tirelessly advocating for the needs of the largest and fastest growing area in Peoria. Tackling such issues as long range planning, economic development and transportation, Ms. Carlat’s work today will ensure that future generations living in Peoria will enjoy a quality of life only imagined in the dreams of the city’s founding families.
With a successful career in business, Cathy Carlat has experience in management and demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of the issues and the effects of her decisions. As a District Manager for a Fortune 500 Company and Vice President of a real estate leasing firm, she has experience steering organizations to bright futures. As a former small business owner, she also understands the significance of providing customer service. She has been employed in the Communications Department of Central Arizona Project since 2001.
During her time on the City Council, Councilor Carlat was instrumental in initiating Peoria’s recycling campaign, serving as Chair of the Mayor’s Subcommittee on Recycling. Ms. Carlat currently serves on the Council Subcommittee on Community Culture and Public Safety as well as serving as the Chairperson for the Council Subcommittee on Policy and Appointments. Additionally, she is the Council Liaison to the Economic Development Advisory Board.
Cathy Carlat serves the citizens of Peoria with a passion for the future and with a strong focus on quality growth and employment. She and her husband Dennis have three children and two grandchildren.
