City of Peoria Commercial Solid Waste Rate Schedule
Notice to Commercial Solid Waste Customers
In compliance with A.R.S. §9-499.15, Peoria is providing 60-day advance notification to its commercial customers that it is considering increases to its rates for front-load and compactor solid waste services. City staff recommends an across-the-board three percent increase to the solid waste rates. Currently, monthly rates range from $60.62 to $1,136.25, depending on the service. A three percent adjustment would increase the monthly rates to $62.44 to $1,170.34. The city estimates that an average commercial customer’s monthly solid waste bill will increase from $244.95 to $252.30 with this three percent adjustment. In addition, the City will consider a recommendation to initiate commercial recycling rates for non-residential customers at $25.00 per month for once-a-week collection and $50.00 per month for twice-a-week collection. The recommended rates would apply regardless of the container size used. Commercial recycling service will be an optional service for non-residential customers. This rate increase will be presented to the mayor and City Council on May 15; if adopted, the rate change will begin on 7/01/2012. The city offers commercial services to all City of Peoria businesses, with up to a maximum of seven (7) days a week, Monday through Saturday. Rates are charged depending on the size of the container and the number of collections per week. These solid waste commercial rates were effective with the first billing cycle in January, 2009 in accordance with RESOLUTION #07-169.
