Training 

The training staff is in charge of professional development training which includes; police recruit training, the Police Officer Training Program, firearms training and specialty training.   The department has indoor firearms and scenario based ranges that allow for realistic training of police officers.  This real world training is provided year round by a host of subject matter experts.  We are also proud to offer our new employees the opportunity to participate in our mentor program.  This program pairs new employees with experienced personnel in hopes of easing the transition to a new job or skill. 

Recruitment and Background Investigations

The Personnel and Training/Youth Services Section handles the recruitment, testing and background investigations for all positions within the department.  We are also responsible for all promotional processes and adherence to policies and procedures through our Human Resources Department.  We have a diversified Recruitment Team which regularly attends employment events in search of people to serve our community.

Explorer Post

The Explorer Program is for young adults ranging in the age of 14-20 interested in serving the community and learning about law enforcement.  The program offers a wide range of civil and police activities promoting a whole person concept for those that choose to get involved.    Our staff is committed to ensuring the youth involved in this program excel with distinction and leave us as well rounded citizens better prepared to conquer their chosen careers.
